Anyone know what causes this? Maybe I missed something in my CMOS. I usually hit escape and bypass it, but it's strange. I have Award BIOS 15JE36.

I changed each setting that i altered back one by one to figure out which setting it was, and it was the CAS timing. I had changed it from 3 to 2, so i just changed it back to 3 and the problem was solved - i have no idea if that would work for you. good luck, tho! /forum/smile.gif Comtech 11-29-1999, 11:30 AM Go into BIOS setup, and change the setting for "Quick" or "Fast" Ram test. Pantion 11-29-1999, 11:36 AM On the BIOS there is an option that say "Quick poweron self test" or "Quick poweron post" or anything similar. Just enable it and it will only check the RAM once. By doing so the BIOS will skip some tests, but if you have everything running as it should there shouldn't be any problem enabling it. Toadman 11-29-1999, 01:21 PM Thanks guys! Someone was snooping in my BIOS and reset it to default "accidentally", so the Quick POST was not enabled. The someone who perpetrated this act now has a 486 CPU pin array imprinted on his forehead. /forum/wink.gif [This message has been edited by Toadman (edited 11-29-1999).] OuTpaTienT 11-29-1999, 06:30 PM Cool. Can you post of picture of that? http://www.norcov.com/~donc/Graphics/smilescy.gif Gene C. 11-30-1999, 05:39 AM I myself would like to see the upgrade from 486 to slot 1. I think the single grove. would be more suitable for dress up. Toadman 11-30-1999, 10:23 AM Slot 1 would be difficult to penetrate and adhere to his skull, although it would create a nice spot to store credit cards or extra NIC cards.
