I HAVE A COMPAQ PC WITH SOUND ON
MB,NO GAMEPORT. IS THERE ANY ADAPTER FOR USING SERIAL OR PARALLEL
PORTS FOR JOYSTICKS? I FOUND AN ADAPTER TO USE A USB PORT FOR JOYSTICKS BUT I DON'T WANT TO SPEND
$60 IF I DON'T HAVE TO. THANKS

Not sure about the adapters for serial or parallel ports, but there are cards you can get specifically to add game ports only. The link below at Cyberguys.com shows you one example of what is out there. This one adds two game ports on one card. Its only $30 I think. Certainly there have to be others as well, maybe for less $$$.
