I have a FIC 503+ that consistenly gets VxD errors and OE and VxD errors when using USB devices such as my QuickCam and DSL modem. I am using Win98 (1 ED). Does anyone have any suggestions?

First, make sure that you have no other system conflicts, or faulty/marginal hardware, and that you have installed the latest device drivers for your USB devices; next, check www.fica.com (http://www.fica.com) under motherboards to see the FAQs for your motherboard and USB The 503+ seems to have some weird relationships between USB and AGP. First make sure that you have installed the VIA miniport IRQ routing (part of the 3in1 patch for the chipset), get the most recent version online or use the CD, and then make sure that you have the most recent driver installed for your AGP card(if applicable), Next, check for updated drivers for your USB devices. In BIOS (PNP/PCI Config) you should set "PNP OS Installed = yes," "Resources copntrolled by = Auto." If all else fails test it with a PCI video card. If the problems go away then it is likely a resource conflict with the AGP. SysOpt.com
