I've been over his house countless of hours on this abit be6. it does have lots of problems. first the ata66 controllers don't work. so I hooked it up to ata33 and now we can at least install windows. now we can't access the A: floppy drive. we're trying to install the drivers for his 10/100 ethernet card but it came in a 3.5 floppy and for some reason it says drive A: is not accessible. why is this? is it the floppy drive (bought it for only $10). anyways I know the older a: floppy drives needed to hooked up to a controller in my old 486. did they sell him an old floppy drive. my friends would greatly appreciate your help. an it would save me lots of time trying to trouble shoot for them. thx

What kind of floppy drive is it. If it is a teac then you have to file off the tab that keeps the cable from being plugged in the wrong way. On the teac drives you have to file off the tab and plug the cable in the other way. By the way I also have an Abit be6 so let me know what other problems you are having. I might be able to help.

You have to first turn on the drives udma66
with software from manufacturer, then put on
udma66 controller and it will work.
