SATA Drives

I got a SATA hard drive in my PC which is having a bad patch at the mo and after a repair install of win xp now shows the Hard disc as being a USB disc and it boots up some times only I am going to format it this weekend but any1 know why this is happening 2 me.

make sure is a SATA 1 drive in a SATA 1 controller

if you have a SATA 2 drive in a SATA 1 controller, you might see this kinda weird things.

usually SATA 2 drives has jumpers to make them work as SATA 1 drives
