Anybody got any suggestions for this??? Got a new hardrive, reinstalled all programs including IE 5.1 and Outlook Express, and now my Microsoft Intellimouse wheel doesn't scroll during IE or Outlook. It does scroll during general windows usage....Any ideas?? Thanks!

Did you remember to reinstall your Microsoft IntelliPoint Software?

That's the obvious solution. You'd think it would work. It didn't help in my case tho'.

Video drivers. Odd...huh?

There is definitely some sorta issue with the mouse and IExplorer version updates. The symptoms I encountered after installing the upgrade, my MS mouse would occassionally register single clicks as double clicks and the middle button was not always showing the 'auto scroll' -This was not do to preference settings.

The odd thing was the resolution to the problem. It was to re-install the Video drivers!

This happened with with IE4.2, 5 and 5.01 upgrades. With several different drivers/driver versions and vidcards. I don't recall how or why I choose to approach the issue this way but on each occassion, reinstalling the vid drivers solved the problem.

I hope this helps in your situation...

My intellimouse rocks. it works in everything, the email, internet, browsing folders, etc. I love it, but one day it messed up and It wouldnt work. All I did was click on the button and it started working like normal again! Weird but true.

..That happened to me too!
at one point...I got so frustrated with my wheel-disabled mouse, I tore the mouse apart to tinker wit the microfabs inside the mouse....Took the cover off, and messed around with the motion sensor thingy by the wheel, and I stuck it back together, and too my suprise it still worked..(the wheel still didnt til about a week later..)
Aint really much u can do in there, so thats not recommended. /forum/smile.gif
