Basmati keeps it's shape and doesn't go gooey like std stuff does.
Its also got more fibre so will keep you regular as clockwork if you eat it a lot.

What do you mean the "standard" stuff??? There are dozens of different types of rice. Basmati is a long grain rice, and when cooked properly is not a "sticky" type of rice found in Asian food joints. It is usually the type of rice you find in Indian food joints.
Also got to know that wild rice is not a true rice, but actually a seed from certain types of grass.

I was interested in two particular types as "Long Grain Rice" as thats what it says on the pack is 50p & "Basmati Rice" is 75p a pack of the same size....... They both looked the same to me, I was just wondering what the extra 25p got ya .......... I conclude from this thread that its: More regular sh1tz ............ Sheesh ya pays extra fer that :eek:
