I have a 3d graphics card but in display I can't get it to go any higher than 16 colors. Any suggestions?

Did you install the drivers for the card and tell your OS to use it?

In display/settings/advance/adapter, it's all there. I just installed Win98 today and it hasn't worked right sence. Would you mind telling me step by step what to try?

First a question, when you installed 98 did you just install over the old OS? (installing over the old one usually ends up creating more problems than fixing them, like your current situation, drivers get screwed up and many other things can inadvertantly go wrong..a clean install is usually recommended, but you may be one of the lucky ones and only have a few minor probs that can be fixed easily...)
It sounds to me like you will have to reinstall the 3d card in order to get the card's drivers to work as the default.
Right click on mycomputer/select properties/device manager and find the display adapter and highlight it and click the remove button and reboot. Upon start up windows should detect new device(3d card) and you should have your card's drivers or install disk ready or if they are on your HD just point the OS towards the directory you have them in. after it has been reinstalled go to
display/settings(make the changes you want)/advanced (make the changes you want) you will have to reboot once again for the changes to be instated. Hope that helps..
