Can someone explain whether or not my AMD K6-2(on ASUS P5A) needs to have the "write allocate" enabled and if so, why?
Thanks.

Use powertweak or setk6 to enable write alllocate. scotter 11-26-1999, 03:13 PM if you upgrade the bios to version 1007a it will give you the option in the bios for write alocate buy defalt it will be on when you upgrade the bios leave it that way wont hurt anything and yes it will give you a slight boost NOTE: if you already have bios version 1007a DO NOT use any othere programs to inable the write alocate as it will couse a conflict with the bios /forum/smile.gif [This message has been edited by scotter (edited 11-26-1999).] brockway 11-26-1999, 10:00 PM Right Scotter - write allocate is enabled.
