Check your sound drivers and look for the new ones if they exist. I had the same problem on OS/2 with my sound card, to fix it I deleted repeated versions of the sound card.

You can try entering in Safe-Mode and delete all traces of the card for reinstallation. If you do remeber to reinstall DirectX too.

Hi!

I just bought a dt0398 sound card, and when in windows, if I play "tada.wav" for example, it goes "tadadadadadadadada..." forever. I can go play rogue squad and the card works great! I got the latest drivers for this card from the internet, and I have DX 6.something installed, but this doesn't help. Please advise!

Well, I tried that, and also upgraded to DirectX 7. This didn't work. The sound still loops. When I moved the card to different pci slots, sometimes at boot time I would have a "primary disk failure", sometimes it reboots just at the touch of the mouse. My computer works perfectly as soon as I take the sound card off the mainboard. Well, I shouldn't expect much from a $10 sound card. Today I'll look for another card, and try to get a known brand.

Thanks for your help!
