Router Modem connection issue with 3web

3 web Braodband Service Provider and Linksys Wireless G router with Dell Inspiron laptop. The pc connected to the modem can connect to the internet. THe PC connected to the router and I have wireless and lan connection. When I connected the router to the modem there is not internet connection and the router can not see the modem. I have turned on DHCP and have tried to configure the ip's without success. Anyone have any ideas? I have set up router a thousand times without difficulty, I'm stumped

Have you tried doing a factory reset yet?

Maybe a flash update of the router firmware is needed. I stopped using my Linksys wireless router and changed to D-Link. I have had less problems with it.

Yes did a reset. i hear alot about the Linksys not being a good router but to not function at all? I have one at home and it works fine. Could it be that the Service Provider doesn't support routers?
