Got a El' Cheapo sound card for my backup pc, a ASOUND Express 3D PCI. Sounds darn good and does what I need it to. One issue tho. When the computer is on, weird digital machine talk comes through the speakers, like 1's and 0's and other weird computer warlbly sounds, if u access a web page, it gets louder and the tone changes weird! My friend let me put in his SB LIVE! in to see if it was the card, it wasnt, sb live did the same thing, is this a irq problem, I never heard anything as weird. Its like you can hear the computer "thinking"

If it's only happening online, it could be that your modem settings are piping the dialing and data sounds through your PC speaker. Check your settings and you should find a slider bar for the volume.

Hello U /forum/smile.gif
Nope, this happens offline and on, totally weird, and it doesnt sound like a modem whatsoever... more like digital "speech" not the hiss of a modem.

Does it do this with the sound card muted? Try muting the volume for the various inputs singly until you find which source is giving the noise. Also, you might try a different audio cable from the cdrom drive, and checking that it is routed away from fans and power carrying cables as much as possible.
If you have a slot available for the card that is at least one open slot away from your other cards, try moving it there.
