I've looked at the guides, but they haven't helped much.

I'm currently running a Nvidia Geforce4 MX440-SE. I have recently been given an MSI RX9800 Pro-TD128.
I would like to know which I should use.
Thanks.

Any 9800Pro, even the crappy cheap ones with 128-bit memory bus, is far better than any GeForce2 card, including the MX440-SE.

The "GeForce4 MX440-SE" is just a renamed GeForce2 MX. It's a DirectX 7 card.

The 9800 Pro is a DirectX 9 card with at least 4x the graphics power.

As stated the 9800Pro is MUCH better. There is absolutly no comparison between the two.

Thanks, guys. I'll do the swap-over later today and do the whole "Wow, I can actually see now!" thing.

Hmm.... well, looks like I won't be seeing anything too spectacular for a while. Apparantly there's some fan power cable or something that I need, which wasn't given to me with the card. Do any of you guys know if I actually need the cable? The fan seems to work fine without.

You mean the 4-pin connector above the fan? That's not fan power, that supplemental graphics power, you probably need it to get all the 3D features to work, or to make them stable.

It's a standard floppy power header. I'm sure your power supply has one or two of them. If you don't have a spare, get an adapter (hard drive to floppy drive power adapter).

You could always take the connector off your floppy drive and use that one. After all, new video cards are cooler than floppy drives anyways. :D

That's probably what I'll end up doing, my floppy doesn't work anyways.
I have to wait for my dad to download the drivers at work first though, it'll take to long here, using dial-up 'n' all.

Well, I just did the swap-over, and have done my first test.
On winamp, my visualisations on fullscreen at 1152x864 are actually real-time! Wow, I can't believe the difference. Not only that, but It looked bloody fantastic!
Thanks guys, you've helped a bunch.
