pls help upgrade my pc

experts,
how much will i gain if i overclocked my
p3 1ghz copper
mobo p6vap-a+
1g pc133 sdram
128mb gf4 graphics
so on....
and pls pls dont tell me to buy a new rig
im just a poor boy satisfied w/ my old rig.
any help/suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Don't overclock if you don't have the funds to replace. Overclocking is risky business.

More ram would help your system out. Your mobo supports up to 1.5gig, although two stix of 256mb should do well.

um, rwest, unless I'm reading that wrong, he has 1Gb ram already.

Engel, what are your desires out of your current rig? Are you trying to do more with graphics, gaming, video editing?
What are you currently using your system for?

rwest is correct in that you shouldn't risk overclocking if you don't have the funds to deal with zapping the stuff you have.

im trying to do more w/ gaming and graphics.
like when im playing CnC Generals ZH it was ok then but when i installed the patch reborn v5.0 it always crashes after 5 to 10 minutes of play. i already uninstalled and reinstalled it for 2 times already but still not ok, i just assumed if i overclocked my pc and boost it for some clock speed maybe it will fix the problem.
pls tell me what should i do?

Well start with the basics. Have you defragged lately? Was there anything in the patch notes about possible conflicts? Try turning down your video resolution to see if that lessens the crashing. Is this the only game or application with problems/difficulties?
