Silence my fan !

Its been a long time since ive posted here as everything is running FINE :)

My question, is it safe to slow down the fan on my graphics card ?
Will it cause any damage ?
I have a AGP Ati radeon 9600XT 256mb ( the fan is so noisy )

What i was thinkin of doin was using my zalam noise controller and turn down the fan that way.

I dont play games so its just for surfing or maybe to watch movies......

Otherwise i was goin to purchase something like one of those BIG fanless heatsinks that cover the entire graphics card to keep the noise down. and temp

Had one on my 9800 Pro. VERY quiet and VERY good cooling. Need to get one for my X850XT. Thing sounds like a weed wacker during serious gaming.

the zalman vf700 is pretty good and quiet. You can use the 5v option to make the fan even quieter.

Thanks guyz for the replies.. I did look at arctic cooling fans b4 they are well priced , i wasnt sure because they all say this fan is quiet buy me lol ( are really quiet as they claim ) Its from people who have had these fans i trust ;-)
