Are you saying the PC on the network at work doesn't allow you access?? If the answer is yes, sounds like the hotmail I.P. might be locked out through a firewall.

Note that there was a hack site on the internet which gave info on how to hack into ANY hotmail account. When that happened, many IT managers ordered their firewall people to block all access to hotmail over the LAN so no company secrets could be hacked exposing their networks to further penetration.

If it's your home PC, you might always try rebuilding your ISP dial-up networking session from scratch just in case you have a bug in there.

Well if your using a "proxy/firewall" product called GATEKEEPER I would suggest contacting GATEKEEPER and find out what settings you need to adjust. I personally use a product called SYGATE and have NO PROBLEMS with any of the email clients that I have used.

Sorry to here that GateKeeper is not handling your request in a timely manner...The problem is your client email programs are obviously trying to use a port that gatekeeper is keeping closed and not letting them thru. I am not familar with gatekeeper and thus I'm unable to tell you how to fix it but could tell you what the problem is!

Thanks for your replay Mtsnow.
What really puzzled me it is that client can use Lycosmail and mail account trough internet from my provider but it can't Hotmail. I do not think it is related with port problem, must be something else and it is far beyond my knowledge. Probaly I will have to change for something else.

OK finally I found were problem is but I do not know why it happen. We have internet call waiting system so I have to run Netmeeting (ver3.01) If I want receive phone calls. If I answer a phone call part of internet functionality on client pc's are disabled. Now I have to restart Netmeeting after phone calls and everything is fine.
Maybe it will help someone in future.
