Remote Desktop Connection uses the RDP protocol and comes bundled in Windows XP. You can use it to remote into another WinXP or Win2K3 machine as long as that feature is enabled on the remote machine.

Typically, as I know it, Remote Desktop Sharing is the feature in MS NetMeeting that allows the participants to share out their desktops (or specific applications) with other participants.

RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) is a protocol and it uses port 3389.
