I recently installed my good old trusty Roxio easy Cd creator 6 in my win XP SP2 system. It doesn't reconized MY HP DVD copier.
SO since version is is now out dated I consisdered getting the latest version
Easy media creator 8 or 7.5. I've read some reviews and they seem preaty down on the product. Has anyone had problems with them?
I was considering version 7.5 since I can get it cheaper.

Roxio has an update to the Roxio 6 engine
You can get it from here:

Hope it helps out ... if you do decide to upgrade, starting with V7 Roxio added Dual Layer Support
I still have V6 Platinum ... How about a product review if you upgrade to V8 ? ?

Of course Roxio 6 will recognize a healthy HP drive. Are you sure it's jumpered properly?
Another possible issue is disappearing drives:

I got V7 platinum ages ago and have been happy with it. What you had to do with versions prior to V7 was to log into their site and download a drive update. This updated the list of drives that were compatible with the software. There are also likely to be newer builds that you can install too as downloads.
