Im running a PIII500 o/c 585, 128sdram, V770 ultra, MX300, WD 6.4 HD. My problem is when I go online and surf via IE5 for "awhile", maybe fifteen-plus minutes, the browser will often (not always, but maybe 65% of the time) lock-up. This seems to happen most often if I have multiple windows open. And often I have to completely reboot to get IE going ok again. While the browser is locked, I can still use Outlook Express, so I don't think my computer is locking up.

I have thoroughtly tested my overclocked machine, and have no lockup problems while gaming or lengthy stability testing. Also have no heat-related issues as monitoring shows very acceptable cpu temps...I also have all the current updates for IE and Windows 98...

I know I haven't given you much info, but has anyone else had this problem or have any solutions/ideas (other than changing my browser!)?? Thanks!

Hi

Yep, I have the same problem under NT4 sp5.
It happens when I have more than 1 window opened.
IE5 stops responding, usually dial-up networking and Outlook98 stop responding as well.
I need to "end task" them, log off and log back in.

I guess I need to blame IE5...
