Hi all,

I have got a problem with my bios -update, so i hope some of you can help me /forum/smile.gif

My M/B is a Asus P2L97-S and i tried to update the bios-eeprom. To do this i used the the flash-tool, aflash.exe, from Asus.

after typing the new bios-file in, the message "boot block is different" occurs. But i went on the update. After this update-process a messages "update flashed successfully" occurs.

After rebooting my system, my NT-loader started and i wanted to start my NT 4.0 on a SCSI-drive. But then a I/O-Error occurs.
Then i tried to start my W98, DOS, Linux and my 2nd NT-Installation, all not on SCSI, and it worked correct.

So then i flashed my old bios back, and my NT-Installation on SCSI worked well again.

So please help me, because i need a new bios to run my new Celeron processor. /forum/smile.gif))))))

When you got the message saying boot block is different, you have flashed it with the wrong bios for that mother board. It may be simliar, that is why you where still able to flash it back, but when you get that message you have the wrong bios rev for that board.

the correct bios file should be lx2s1005.zip
