Using MS dialup networking, connections are made fine, but, the connections details box automatically minimises onto the toolbar.
I'm sure it used to stay 'active' on the desktop after connecting.
Is there a setting somewhere that will stop it minimising, where it's forgotten about until the idle timer kicks in?
Thanks in advance,
Symes

Not quite sure what ya mean, but from what I understood try this:
1. Go to my computer
2. Open Dial-ip Networking
3. Click on the menu "Connections" then choose settings
4. The third option "Show a confirmation dialog after connected" check it if it isn't.
Well if that was your problem then here ya go... if not well looks I missed on this one.
Did you upgrade your DUN to 1.3? The original version in Win95 stayed on the screen (I liked that!), but the new version just turns into a tiny icon in the system tray.
This what you are referring to?

Pantion, the option doesn't seem to be there on my system.
Beck - you're spot on!
I want to know if there is some way to keep it on the screen without clicking on the sys tray icon.
The application my users have insists that DUN is used to make the connection first, then the app itself is run up. When the app is closed they forget to drop the dialup connection... By leaving the 'details' dialogue box on the desktop they are 'reminded'.
Symes,
I'm sorry but I don't know how to make it keep a window on the desktop. I wish I did. I have the same problem with forgetting to disconnect. I set up the disconnect after idle thing to 15 minutes, and try to remember to click the icon so I have a reminder on the desktop.
If anyone knows how to do this, please let us know!!!

Thanks Beck, at least I know I'm not the only one who'd prefer it the old way!
