Hey DOOD: Downloaded it last night, but I had
use Windows update without any browser running or my system would crash. A real pain
but you gotta play buy the rules. Seems OK,
but I'm not into the gaming thing. Good luck!

Your Bro,

P.S... Have you downloaded IE 5.01, curious if it was worth the trouble /forum/frown.gif

Heck, I don't download any of the big programs anymore. I just wait for my next Maximum PC cd and install them off of that. And I've not had any DirectX 7 errors either.

DX7 is working fine here, seemed to bump up my 3dmark 99 max score too, although it could just be solar flairs.

good one pickel /forum/biggrin.gif

Not a single problem, except Unreal, but its drivers related and I run it on Glide... so it doesn't bothers me.

6 systems to date a-okay! - have Direct Media & Directx7 burned to a CD and it works great - but be sure to install the Direct Media package - better to install that first.

~edit - Chinese screen saver? sounds cool!

When I get back home I have to look for that chinese screen saver!?

What I also did last night while here at work was to download all of the updates from the corporate site (http://www.microsoft.com/windows98/downloads/corporate.asp) and burned them to a CD so I can update my other computers WITHOUT having to do the downloads on each one! /forum/smile.gif and the other nice thing about doing that is when and if you ever have to wipe windows and start over you already have the updates avaliable! (that is unless you already had made a "image" of your hd before the crash)

CMonster and Mnstnow - burning the updates is a great idea. I must get around to doing the same. Sooner or later we know we're going to need them... /forum/wink.gif

I haven't tried IE5.01 yet, but since I've heard mostly no problems with it, I think I'll be installing it sometime soon.
