hi all.

I am trying to link 2 computers both running xp through a router. I have ran the network wizard on both machines but dont know what to do next.

if some one has the time and patients to give me a little tutorial or sumpin, I would apreciate it.

we could always go a direct link using the lan cards but if we can do it via the router it would save swapin wires and stuff.

your thoughts are apreciated.

ward.

did you look at the best of networking? cat5e's site has tutorials. so does practicallynetworked.com

you need to enable shares on both systems, have the same usernames/passwords, use the same workgroup name.

well I had a quick glance their, but in the mean time my buddy with the other computer took maters into his own hands and warped my computer out terminaly. its taken me about 6 hours to undo what he did in 5 minutes.

I will get him to do a bit of reading.

its his first computer that has lasted more than a week or so with him, so he now knows every thing.

I have been foolin around for a few years now and I know I know nothin.

go figure?

thanks for the reply, and we will do some reading.

regards, ward.
