Alright folks, so im trying to play over the internet Battlefield 2...I want to play my brother by setting up a server. My internet connection is kinda funky. First off I have a router in my room, which gets connection from another router in a friends room. From his router is the connection to the modem. I create a server and use ipconfig to get my IP address so my bro can directly connect. I'm pretty sure the ipconfig is getting the local IP off the router in my room. What I need to know is how should I set up my router and my friends router so my brother can see my server or true IP. The routers are both LinkSys model# rt31p2. HELP! Any info is greatly appreciated.

don't set up two routers like that. you need to disable dhcp on your router. that will effectively make it a switch.

you cannot have 2 dhcp servers in the same environment. you need to have the router connected to the modem using dhcp. read this link on CAT5E's site from "Best of Networking"

how do you have your VOIP set up? you don't have to disable that feature on the router, just dhcp.
