I have just dual booted my machine with caldera linux 2.3. Problem is I cannot get my diamond supra express 336i (isa) sp modem to work and not quite sure how to. I am sure it is not a winmodem. 99%. I know that you can use isapnp tto configure, but i havent a clue how to.
Can anyone help me please.
Thanks V Much

The home site of isapnptools has many links to documentation and how-to's. http://www.roestock.demon.co.uk/isapnptools/
Also check out this BBS, there are many posts from people with the same question as you.

Also be sure to go into your bios setup and make sure the option "PNP OS installed" is set to "no". There are quite a few people that have solved their problems by just doing that.

If your modem can be jumpered to non-PNP then do it: set the jumpers to COM2 IRQ3. Go into BIOS and disable the onboard COM/serial port 2. Next (in Linux)run "lisa" (type in lisa and press enter)in a terminal window choose system/hardware configuration and set the modem to COM2. It should work now, but you will have to also tell Kppp about your modem.
