Ok, so here's my question:
I recently upgraded to Ns 4.7 and now almost every time i close the program, I get an illegal operation in Netscape. It obviously isn't that big of a deal, because I was closing it anyway, but it is still an annoyance! Does anyone know what the problem is? Oh, and the illegal operation is in kernel32.dll. I don't know if that matters or not.

Petros: When I had trouble with Netscape 4.6
I believe, I had to uninstall both it and 4.0
reinstall my Bellsouth software ( 4.0 version) the update to 4.6 then 4.7. All is OK now. Hope this helps. Sometimes you gotta start from scratch.Good Luck

Same thing has been happening to me since Netscape 4.0. I have tried everything to get rid of it, reinstalled, reformatted, prayed, bought a voodoo doll. Now I just live with it. Probably a special instruction added to Windows by B. Gates to make us want to use IE /forum/redface.gif).

This problem may occur if you have installed diff versions of Netscp. Conflict will occur btwn v4.0x and any other versions that came after it. Try uninstalling All versions from your machine. Then delete the 2 Netscp registry keys ie. Hkey-local-macine/software/netscp & hkey-current-user/software/netscape. Then reboot & instal new netscp
