Madden 06 franchise messed up

I just finished Super Bowl 42, am trying to start the fourth year of my franchise, but it's messed up. I have my game saved at the point where I'm at the off season owner's box. I can advance to the off season schedule fine, and from there I can look at any one of the choices fine (i.e. I can go to retired players, or free agents, or whatever), but after that if I try to either go back or to advance to the next phase, it freezes up. It doesn't totally freeze, the music still works, the team name at the top and bottom still scrolls, but it never loads the next screen. It leaves me at this blank (well, team color background and all that) screen and hangs. Any ideas?

BTW, I've tried uninstalling but keeping the saved game. No dice. I've tried totally uninstalling but acking up the saved game, then creating a new franchise with the same name and replacing it with the old one, still no dice. Any other ideas? This stinks. Madden 05 did this to me. Now Madden 06. I had my team exactly how I wanted it...heck I don't even have any players who need to be redsigned or anything.

Well obviously I know now. Now I just have to wait for a mod to move this.
