My friend has a computer that doesn't even boot up. It displays an "override" message.
Has anyone seen this problem?

The overide message is simply what the monitor displays when it isnn't getting a signal from the computer. Please give us more info about your setup, any beeps, fans, disk activity etc, so that we can help.

Thanks for the info bdog.
Since I don't have access to the computer, I can't actually see what is going on. I was told that there is disk activity but no beeps.
Then the override message is displayed.
The Keyboard doesn't respond so I don't think the computer is even posting.
The computer is under warranty but Compusa told my friend that if the problem wasn't with the hardware that they would charge him what ever it cost to fix it.

Your friend needs to make sure that the monitor cable is tightly secured to the back of the computer first.

If that doesn't work, have your friend open up the case and give a nudge to properly seat all the hardware inside, using a rocking motion.
