Our receptionist has a laser printer that she uses to print envelopes. She says that suddenly today it has stopped working. It takes the enelope through but doesn't print on it. It will print the address on a plain sheet of paper and the envelope will print on a different printer.

Does this sound like something has gone wrong in the printer? I can't find any settings which seem to have changed. Why wouldn't a printer be able to print on an envelope when it can print fine on anything else?

This is an old TI printer. I know TI is owned by someone else now but I can't remember who.

you say that it prints on normal paper - is the orientation correct - I.E. - given how you insert the envelope into the printer - would the print actually hit the paper?

Make sure the addresses within the document are set to the correct orientation.

Also, the paper sensor within the printer that detects whether there is paper there or not to print on may be bent or broken if it is a roller type, or dirty if it is an optical sensor( reflective )

Lastly, have you taken out the ink cartridge and given it a good shake to make sure the remaining toner is evenly distributed. Cartridges which are almost empty have been know to only print part of a page.
