help with my video system....

when ever my cpu goes to sleep, or i reboot, i have to adjust the position of my monitor (the veiw section of the screen is of to one side to far) and also in aplications without a side to side scroll bar (like winzip) the far right button will be cut i half, like its positiond wrong. btw i have a pos agp card (froma powerspec) on a bm6 w/ 433 celry @ 541 with the "dreaded" (insert scary music) 83 mhz fsb, but i have been running it for like 6 months w/o a single problem,not even a crash what is making my screen do this? monitor or video card?

Funny I came hear for the same question and I just happened to see your topic mine is a amdk62 450 with a ati rage video card well actually its my dads (mine works great just built it this weekend first time ive built)
But I told my dad Id try to fix it I just need to find out how.
Same problem goes to slep whn wake up have to ajust picture on monitor and also have to ajust when I go from win98 to dos

Hmmm... does it shows ok on win, but on DOS the screen seems to be moved to one side? And also does this happens when you change from resolution to resoltuion (like from 800*600 to 640*480)?

If it does then it is the refresh rate of the monitor... adjust the refresh rate according to the resolution. Had the same problem with an oldie IBM monitor. Use Win9x or powerstrip to adjust the refresh rates for each resolution.
