"When asked the follow-up question of whether the new name meant that beginning of a regular flow of content, Lombardi replied, "yes."

Well, i just hope you dont have to pay all the time for like 2 hours playing another "episode".

I rather buy a BIG game which costs 45 euros than loads of "episodes" which may costs 5-10 euros and where you just have a few hours of gameplay

When I read that Source would be providing SiN episodes in this way, I thought that maybe this was coming. I believe this delivery method may catch on fast for all developers though. It would allow them to make smaller investments at a time and gives an accurate and on going gauge of popularity and income potential. This will probably improve games going down the road as flops will die off fast and good games will see an infusion of resources that improve them even more. In gamings current state, a developer has to make huge investments up front and if the game flops, it's extremely costly for them and can even affect other projects.

"H-L2 Episode 2 Already in Development"

"The sad fact about Episode 1 is that for the USD 19.99, Valve only plans to offer about 4-6 gameplay hours to gamers, so a quick second episode may help ease the distress for fans."
