When I install my new IBM ATA66 HD by itself on the primary IDE channel, all is well and it is recognized by BIOS properly. However, if I install any non ATA66 device as a slave, I get an error message stating "80 pin cable not connected", although the system boots and runs fine. In this case however, the new IBM hd is recognized only as ATA33 device. System is Athlon 600, MSI mobo. Is this scenario true for all ATA66 drives. Anyone out there have ATA66 drive with non ATA66 slave that is recognized properly in BIOS? Thanx in advance.
