Call me stupid.
Ok.
About 6 months ago I tried installing the AGP Pro ide dma driver that came with the mobo. No end of problems and about three days to get rid of it, and back to the standard windows drivers.
Well I did it again last night with the (what i thought were) updated driver file from their website. Well I installed from CD and then when the computer rebooted guess what it looked for the primary ide channel, looked for the secondary, found it. Rebooted and locked, I am going to remove the drivers tonight because I couldn't get back into my CD roms, so I've stuck it on floppy.
After much hair tearing out and shouting, I gave up and went to bed, it was either that or the wife would have put me on the sofa.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so how did you cure it?
Many thanks
