It should have been outlawed years ago. Name anything else thats only 5% effecient and that is still embraced by the world (not counting polititians of course), compact flourescent bulbs are clost to 90% efficient, but they cost more so ppl don't buy them.
You'd think the power companies would offer some kind of rebate if you switched to all CF bulbs, but they won't.

Why don't the make it law?
Simply coz the polititians are all in the pockets of the energy industry. And those ferkers certainly down want power consumption for home lighting to be reduced 85% do they!
They want it as high as possible.
