Microstar mobo
550 Athlon
Millenium 2d agp
sli Monster 3d 8 meg

3D games Do no work right. Funky colors, or do not run at all.
Called AMD. They duplicated the system, and they had the same problesms. They never responded back. Called long distance to them and no answer back yet.
Anyone else have troubles with similar config. Also tried Guillemot Xentor 32 in place of agp millenium and sli Monster3d2.

Upgraded from p2 300 fsb 66 to Athlon 550. No problems with games before upgrade.

Ideas Anyone?

First of all, do you have an AMD approved power supply? Also, some MSI boards have been known to underpower the AGP slot. Perhaps you should try swapping it with another, perhaps the Gigabyte board.

I was thinking maybe lack of power. Bought a whole new case, $80 for a nice one w/300w supply. Nothing yet.
Sucks, bought cpu, and price has gone down so much, and haven't reaped the benefits yet. Tried diff vid cards, they all had some kind of 3d gaming problem. Only thing that works is the old p2300.

Hey, I have exactly the same system - except I have a v770 ultra for video card - and I never had a single problem.

Whhat 3d gmaes have u played? Quake2 get funky colors and some direct3d games get stuck on exciting. I have to window it then exit. 2d performance is fast however.

I have only played Quake 2 so far, and the colors are amazing. I haven't noticed any problems with 2D or 3D - the videocard has not given me any problems at all.

This is probably a dumb question, but have you installed the AGP miniport driver from AMD?
