(I have a computer problem on my old 286 laptop which has info on it I need. When I turn it on I get the following on the screen):

640KB System Memory Passed

Enhanced Graphics Adapter test passed
Colour Graphics Adapter test passed
Real Time Clock test passed
Keyboard Test Passed
Floppy Disk Test passed (1 drives installed)
1 COM channels installed

(I hear two beeps)

System options are not set, run SETUP
press <F1> to resume

(When I do I get):

Boot error - press any key to continue

(When I press any key the FDD Light lights up but the messages repeats)

Boot error - press any key to continue

(can anyone help solve this?)

Your HD may got a bad sector... make a bootable floppy and copy SCANDISK and run it so it checks the HD for errors.
