ok a weird problem just occurred today and hasnt gone away.. i have 3 systems on my cable network, all running win xp pro

all of a sudden, the connections slowed down significantly today. it takes about 30 seconds or more for my search engine homepage to open up. each website takes about the same amount of time too.

- none of the systems are performing downloads or uploads
- performed full system virus scans and spyware scans

tried reboting modem, router, pc's

all 3 systems are behaving the same way as well. i tried opening up mirc to perform a download/upload to test how fast it's going and it's pretty slow too.

ok so i've found the problem now but it doesn't add up. when i shut down my torrent.. everything speeds up to normal but when it starts up, everything slows down. what's weird is that this problem never happened before and the download/upload is very slow even in torrent so it can't be eating up my bandwidth...

any suggestions?

Entry Level Cable/DSL Router was not conceived with the BT traffic in mind.

If you need to move a tone of wet sand you do not use a small sedan. ;)

You can try to switch every thing Off (including the Router) and rebbot, that might help for a while, until you need to reboot again.

Try looking at your torrent client upload /seen list. You might have alot of users downloading from you system. Simply limit or do not allow users to download from you and that should cure you're network traffic.

i tried limiting the number of users who can download from me and the upload transfer is very low but i'm still getting the same problem

The problem may be found elsewhere . Did you run any spyware locaters?
