A Client has a WAP allowing him access to the Internet & Network etc, for the past week his Laptop has not detected the WAP & reports the Wireless Network Connection as Not Connected, a browse fails to pick up the WAP at all

I took my Laptop & immediately detected the WAP & I just had to key in the access key to allow browsing the Internet & Network

My client assures me his Toshiba Satellite Pro, XP Pro Laptop detects his Home Wireless Network

Any thoughts appreciated

what kind of security settings are enabled on the router? is SSID broadcast enabled? are they using a MAC filter list?

i would just do a full reset of the router if you're not sure what settings were enabled.

The User informed me yesterday that he'd discovered some tiny switch on the front of the Laptop that enables & disables wireless access, obviously it had got caught whilest being put in or out of the carry case. A good idea to put that on a portable device !
