I was fiddling around in my system putting in new fans and stuff to prep it for a wee bit of oc'ing. I thought i should check waht speed my memory is, but the details on the chips did shed much light.
It is a 128 MB PC100 stick, it says,
MIRA P2V64S30BTP
9249IB0R-7
I know in old days (EDO) used to say the speed in the last number on the chip, but i've never heard of 7ns RAM is it possible. Is there anyother way of finding out. DOes Sandra teel you.

There is a program called DimmID. I can't remember where I got it from though... I think it was 3DFiles or something.

It is only 17KB and should give you what you want. /forum/smile.gif

It's at this URL http://www.vml.co.uk/downloads.htm

as PC66 / PC100 DIMM Checker Utility.

Not where I got but it's there /forum/smile.gif

BTW ....Sandra does tell you under mainboard information.

tried DIMMid, does not work on non-intel computers so it was useless for me. I see that sandra tells me that I have R 8-1-1-1 and W 6-1-1-1 or something like that I know the R part is correct but not sure about the W one. Does this mean I have 8ns memory, or is the memory info somewhere else on the page???

doglet, thanks but the program only tells me what i already know, ie, 128MB of PC100 RAM. It doesn't say the speed.
I get the same message as deep in sandra but i can't find anywhere which actually tells me.
any more suggestions

Donkey, is that number that you posted one of the numbers right off one of the chips itself? If not, post what it is and we may be able to figure who manufacturered the chips and go to their site.

Susan, yes the numbers i have given are right off the chip there is nothing else on them. I think the manufacturer is a company called MIRRA (not MIRA which is what is says on the chips) but i can't find any web sites for them.
thanks D

underclocked what does this tell me?
I am pretty sure that it is PC100 not 133 and doglet's program confirmed this. Still haven't found the speed (ns) of it though

donkey, I am sure that SiSoft Sandra gives the ns of the memory.

If you go to 'mainboard information' and scroll down to 'Physical/BIOS Memory Banks' it will give you what you want. Mine says 64MB 6ns DIMM SDRAM Single Bank. I think the 6ns part is what you are looking for. I'm not sure if it reports it correctly because I haven't actually looked at the DIMM itself but I do know it is 64MB .

Can anyone else confirm my info??
