I have a motherboad with a built in cmedia CM8330 cound card. I recenetly got a US Robotics 56k Voice PCI modem and I am now getting a sound repeat. Most of the time it seems to happen in Internet Explorer 5, when I hit one of the tool buttons the click sound will repeat forever until I restart my machine.

Any ideas?

You have a resource conflict, most likely an IRQ problem. Check the Device manager and look at your sound device resources. If there is a yellow exclaimation mark, try removing the device, rebooting, and allow Windows to reinstall the device.

Or you could try just reassigning the resources for the modem or sound device.

Nope, no yellow mark. I thought the same thing at first. I checked all of my I/O addresses and DMA channels too, that doesnt seem to be the problem.
