Okay mobo gurus, let me have it.
Pretty please.

Iv'e done a lot of research on my second computer and apparently my best option is to replace the old p2 board. Here's what I've got. HP pavilion 6470z

In it currently is:
Maxtor 40 gig hard drive
cd writer w/Mount rainier support
second cd drive 52x ? ?
floppy drive
New 320 watt PS
256 mb sdram pc100
Intel PIII processor 550mhz
Gforce2 mx400 64mg AGP 2x 4x
two usb devices
using installed OEM sound card (have new HI-Live sound card, still in box)
ASUS p2b- ve mobo ( to be replaced)

What I want to do is stick a better board in this HP and still use my current devices. The mobo is ATX form factor, and is 12.5" x 9.5"
I would like a board to support my current ram and also be able to support pc133. I'm not eliminating Amd just not familiar with the product. I can load Win 98 or XP to the HDD.

I realize it won't be knew. I'm Not looking to overclock, but not afraid to move jumpers to allow for a better processor. Stability is the primary Key, with gaming kept as option.

Will be used for accesing internet, Office programs, and backup gamer. For when my son is on my new AMD 64 3200+. ErrgGH!

I'll be glad for any and all suggestions. What worked well for you?

Is the processor a Slot 1 or Socket 370?

See if you can find an Asus TUSL2 or a Soyo TISU - anything with an Intel i815EP chipset.

Slot 1. i815 I thought its draw back was rdram. I'll definely take at look at those boards. I have yet to check out the p3b-f you suggested on my other post. Availability on a board with the i815 will definetly have better chance of being able to Find. Thanks for the suggestions.

Forget it. The i815EP is Socket 370. It used SDRAM, BTW.

I predict that you are going nowhere with this, but good luck.

I got a closet full of new Intel 810e's - MooCow OEM's
mATX
socket 370
onboard video and sound
2 sdram - 512 max
4 PCI
2 USB
no AGP
no LAN
(I'll give yah the mobo but you'll have to buy a used 10/100 tx NIC from me. ;-)
I think they're buried in there, too!)
