help! winzip problem = (

i just got a new hard drive and when i try to install winzip7.0 it says "winzip self extractor header corrupt" so i downloaded the install like a million times but i still get the same thing. and i just tried installing the new drivers for my voodoo3 and it says the same thing "winzip self extractor header corrupt" what do i do? = (

Try using another zip program, like www.netzip.com (http://www.netzip.com) .

I don't like it too much myself because it seem intrusive on the system, but as a temporary solution it may work for you.

Boot from a clean floppy, and scan for viruses.
Download winzip again.

i d/l mcafee and it it was the cih virus = (
like 300 files were infected, which i cleaned, but how am i sure that it's gone for good? cuz i still can't open self-extracting zip files = (

Everything you've touched has been infected......
Everything you've sent has been infected.....
Everything you've received has been infected.....

That's how you have to approach this.....
Recovery is a long and slow process.......
Start by cleaning any and all magnetic materials you've used.
Get a different Anti-virus program and run it....You may have more than 1 virus lurking among your files....use it on the floppies,zips and tapes etc....
then tackle the HD again.....

i think i got it all clean now, but people say i should still reformat the hard drive, **** i really don't wanna have to do that.
