I have 7 computers on my network and home, I have a huge amount of Data stored on them, there is 3 of them that contain allot of sensitive date, like customer information etc etc, I want to back them up on DVD and store them of site and delet it from the network, so I知 looking for a good and reliable Backup program that I can use to back them up to DVD, I have one or two and have tried them this morning they work ok, but some of the data I backed up was inaccessible when I checked them, has anyone got any recommendations?

Thanks a Mill.

If you find one, make sure to let the rest of the world know.

I have been complaining about backup software for 25 years now.

The two best programs (other than Ghost/TrueImage) are GenieSoft and Dantz Retrospect:

with FAM:

Yes, GBM Pro can do this and much more. It's the backup program, with the addition of FAM (File Access Manager) for online file backups that I convinced BPB to move over to. And he is very happy with it.

My email can be obtained from this link:

Hey G - wish I could afford it - looking at doing the same thing at home but too many machines. Most people don't realize that a backup usually is badly flawed when people go home at night logged in and/or using an app because the file in use is passed over. Cool that Genie takes care of that.

We're changing our IT vendor at work and believe me, I'll be comparing his recommendation to yours. No expert but seems most boot the machine off the app and then log it off.....thanks for the tip. :t

This may help out somewhat.

Copies
License fee per copy (discounted by 20% in brackets)

Copies
License fee per copy (discounted by 20%)

1-9
$ 69.95 ($55.96)

10-29
$64.95 ($51.96)

30-99
$60.95 ($48.76)

100-249
$56.95 ($45.56)

If you change over at work email me as I can beat Genie's prices by 20% no matter what the deal. All you have to do is let me know. If your work has a backup solution already let me know as you can get up to 35% discount.

I'm a reseller of Genie and the free work I do is paid through sales so they are ok with me doing it this way.

Also if the data is shared data only across a network you only need one license. You also get a licencse to use it on a laptop free of charge too.

The best cost effective way would be going for a good online backup solution. Try this online storage service, they have a good clientele and have been in operation for years.

http://www.ibackup.com

Their products will help you to backup and store your data securely. The data transmitted while backup process is encrypted to ensure security. The intelligent part of this service is that it backs up only the updated part of your files on subsequent backups which ensures a quick backup. You can retrieve any older versions of the same file with the versioning feature.

I think this solution will work out better for you. All the best!
