I have a BH6(Rev 1.0) with a PIII-450.
The latest BIOS update is installed, yet
it keeps recognizing it as PII-300.
What can I do?

When you go into the BIOS setup (hitting delete when it asks you to), go up to the top-left menu setting. There, you should find the settings to change the CPU. With my experiences with the BH6, it does not always detect the right CPU... I had to change that setting for mine.

I've tried that several times and it keeps reverting back to 300.

Just a thought, but when you exit the bios are you saving the settings. I have seen some pretty simple solutions to some problems before, and I've missed some pretty simple solution before.

Double-check to make sure that you have flashed your BIOS with the LN update. I believe this is the last one for the 1.0... all of the newer ones on the download page seem to be for the BH6 rev 1.1. I might also suggest posting your question in the alt.comp.periphs.mainboard.abit newsgroup. You might have a little better success there. I managed to learn how to get a few of the settings set the way I needed to just by reading the posts already up.

If you turn off the "Error" detection/halt that is found in SoftFSB section and then again in the next section, it will keep it's setting.
It's only a minor point with such a good mb.
