Hi folks!
I am looking for a software (or online) that can do this
Show multiple locations (for example 7 or 8 ) on a city map (example San Franscisco), and show the best route (least round trip mileage) to visit all the locations starting from one point. :D
(Or I need to pull out the map and mark x on all locations and figure out where I should go first). :(
Thanks!

The latest MS Streets and Trips has an interesting GPS feature . It also has a feature which will "optimize your route to find the most efficient ways to reach multiple destinations".

The cost for over $100 is only if you need the actual gps module so the software
can tell where you are .. that becomes a buy it once item
Now if you know where you are at & input an exact address or cross streets
then you might not need the gps feature .. that can be added later starting with
MS Streets & Trips 2005 (possibly also 2004 not sure)

Hello bka1967,
I think a GPS navigation tool will do what you want (even without a GPS unit). Some of them will allow you to establish Waypoints on a map from the internet or scanned image maps and then print them. Some are free to download and some have a free trial period.
Before getting a GPS, I used one of these tools with MapQuest maps that I had saved with the old right-click. Labeled waypoints with addresses to use Garage Sale hunting and for a couple of trips. Couldn't find the specific one I had today.
Check C/Net, MajorGeeks etc. for something that might work for your use. This one (http://msn-cnet.com.com/2M-Navigation-Assistant-Update/3000-2053_4-8401926.html?tag=lst-0-5) or this (http://msn-cnet.com.com/GPS-TrackMaker/3000-2054_4-10315712.html?tag=lst-0-6) may do what you want.
Good Luck,

Sorry for not keeping up with the post. I got bogged down on other stuff.
I have not bought the MS Streets and Trips, yet. I spoke with a buddy of mine who has MS Streets and Trips that he got with a package and have not used it. I will get it next time I go to see him.
Thinking of that I wonder how Fedex and UPS drivers manage their route...specially for deliveries by 10:00 AM. How do they pick their best route?
I am not in this kind of business. I just wanted to map the best routes when we travel or whenever we visit a new city.
Thanks!
Anybody working for Fedex or UPS? :r

Are you saying that that feature is only in the 2006 version and not in the 2005 version ?
How do you use it, or do you just add locations to the Route Planner and let it decide
the best way ?

Sorry, I don't know about 2005.
I let the program to optimize stops, I told it where to start and where to end. I did it for 7 locations around my area...2 suburbs. The route I have is abuut 1.5 hr. long. Since I know the roads and locations, I believe that the program did gave me the best route. :)
