I have a 333MHz Celery system with a 44x US Drive CD-ROM. When I launch a program that reads data off a CD usiung this drive, it winds out; it races for a good 10 maybe 15 seconds. Anyone know why? Is this to be expected of a US Drive? I also have CD-RW which never races when used to read CDs. Any comments?
Thx

I don't know why but I do know it is normal I have two or three fast cdroms and they all do it. What is the read speed on your cdrw if it is a slower speed it won't wind up like the faster ones do.

Thx, Butchk. At least I'm not alone! The read speed on my cd-rw is 24x.
