SOUTH Africa paceman Andre Nel was racially abused for the second time this summer during Australia's first innings at the Sydney Cricket Ground yesterday.

The firebrand Nel, was branded a "Kaffir" just before the tea break, further sullying the reputation of Australian cricket crowds.

The racial taunt came from the Bay 17 section of the SCG, just to the left of the Doug Walters Stand on Yabba's Hill. The South Africans claimed at least one member of a group of drunken fans, highly visible in white T-shirts and fluorescent yellow caps, yelled the remark at 3.30pm.

Soon after, Nel informed his captain, Graeme Smith, who in turn told umpires Billy Bowden and Aleem Dar. All stood in the middle of the pitch for some time, pointing to the culprits, and an announcement warning against further racial abuse was made over the PA system shortly after. International Cricket Council security chief John Rhodes and match referee Chris Broad, were immediately informed of the incident.

Nel had earlier interacted with a rowdy section of the crowd in the Bradman Stand concourse, clapping along as they chanted "Nel is a w-----."

The South Africa paceman, who crowds target because of his antics on the field, was one of six Proteas players racially abused during the first Test in Perth. Makhaya Ntini, South Africa's first black Test cricketer, along with Shaun Pollock, Ashwell Prince, Garnett Kruger and Justin Kemp were called "Kaffirs" and "Kaffir boeties" by a drunken section of the crowd at the WACA Ground.

After that incident, former South African cricket chief Ali Bacher called for life bans for racially abusive spectators, while Cricket Australia pledged it would enforce a "zero tolerance" policy against those who racially taunted players or officials.

National boards are told to print the ICC's anti-racist statement on tickets and/or posters at stadium entrances. Stadium staff are also told to inform the crowd that they will be ejected at the first sign of racism.

Nothing wrong with a bit of sledging! If they can't stand it they shouldn't play the game.
What the article fails to mention is the much worse stuff when the aussies play in Sth Africa. Bloody hipocrites!

In Oz, we refer to rubish dumps as 'tips'.
What are you doing with the girlies? Dumping them?

I get that, ya pay all the bills, pay at restaurants, taxis, pay for new things in the house and any repairs for house vehicles and many other things she asks for money for, but if you have no money on you and ask for $50, you keep getting reminded how much she gives you.
