Microsoft IDE driver - most recent ?

currently having some issue with NF4 IDE drivers.. and have reverted to microsoft version.. running XP MCE....

the date on these show up as 2001.. is there a more recent version from microsoft? and where would I find it ?

you need to go to the hardware vendor for the latest driver updates, NOT microsoft.

I've used that site many times to get nvidia's latest versions.. (6.70 in this case for NF4) .. My point is that these are still problematic with some configs using SATA and NCQ, etc.. and many seem to go back to microsofts version... and my question is how do I get the most current microsoft version ? Or are the one's I mentioned with the 2001 date.. the one and only ?

unless it is on the windows update site, you won't find a newer driver. microsoft leaves driver development to the vendor after the OS goes gold.

if your system is running ok with the old MS driver, then just leave it. "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"
