I've had my trusty 32X CD-ROM for over a year now, and have never had any problems with it (until now!!!). If I copy a couple of largeish zips from my CD-ROM to my HD, one or two of the zips will have a CRC error. The same zips won't always corrupt though. It sort of happens randomly. I have tryed several different CD's in the drive, and they all do similar things. Is it just a case of a new CD-ROM, or is there something I need to setup???

See if DMA is enbaled in System Propertiers>Device Manager>CDROM>Your 32x Drive Properties.. that will cause those errors.. if it's enabled just uncheck and restart

Thanks MBrannon,
After asking around it seems that my error is probabily due to a failing hard drive!!! That was the last thing I expected. I'm just backing up all my data now, and I got to scrape up some cash to get a new one /forum/frown.gif
