I think the PS3 will be the better of the two, but ultimatley, both are going to dissapoint in light of what was originally promised

Good Read. I think I'll be waiting till PS3 comes out to make any kind of decision.

With 3 kids - who at one point had all three Nintendo, XBox and PS systems, at some point families have to go with one maker, or go BK buying games, paying for internet play, etc.

Great read altogether - M$ barely got this thing built in anywhere near its promised time-frame with lots of problems and limitations - in fact I thought he was kind in his review but his advice will probably be used in the third generation, not the next one. I believe the designers think they're building the best they can but after all, it's really all about who's to market first with the system with the fewest screwups and the biggest profit margin.

My kids love it but it's probably the new games, better graphics and action than before, etc. Anything get's better and better after starting with the likes of PacMan. The XBox bombed in Japan, so I guess all things considered it's great to see the competition in gaming consoles. And in games.

But they all make mistakes - EA drives me nuts because they and other monster game makers make me go out and buy yet another generation of video cards every time I spend $40-50 for the latest action game. It'll never end.

And what's the end point after all of this? The output you get, and the type of TV and/or monitor you have - otherwise all this fancy stuff doesn't mean much, don't you think?
